The West Asian Athletics Championships kick off in Basra

The opening events of the West Asian Athletics Championships began a short while ago at the Trunk of Palm Stadium in Basra.
 
 
The correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported: “The opening activities of the West Asian Athletics Championships were launched at the Sports City Stadium in Basra, in its fifth edition, which qualifies for the 2024 Paris Olympics, with an official presence.”
He added, "The events will continue over four days with the participation of 13 countries: Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, the UAE, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Yemen, Qatar, Syria, Iran, in addition to Iraq, the host country."
